Patti Woods of Grass Roots Environmental Education <> in Port Washington, NY, will be presenting a program in Manhattan, “Is Wi-Fi Safe for Kids?” <> on Thursday evening, February 10th. The event will be at All Souls Church, 1157 Lexington Avenue (at 80th) on from 7-9 p.m. <> and Campaign for Radiation Free Schools <> (Facebook) strongly urge all members of the media interested in children’s health to attend.

See presentation by Dr. Magda Havas from Trent University in Canada on risks to children in schools from wireless technologies <> , including cell towers, Wi-Fi and dirty electricity, given at a forum at the Commonwealth Club of California, November 18, 2010.

Another presentation of interest from that program, “The Health Effects of Electromagnetic Fields” <> , is that of Martin Blank, PhD of Columbia University who speaks about the cellular and DNA impacts from wireless radiation and the risks from these technologies to future generations <> . Dr. Blank is Associate Professor, Columbia University, Department of Physiology and Cellular Biophysics; Editor of the journal Pathophysiology’s special issue on Electromagnetic Fields in March 2009; and Past President, Bioelectromagnetics Society <> . He holds a PhD from Columbia University in Physical Chemistry and a PhD from Cambridge University in Colloid Science, an interdisciplinary (biology, physics and chemistry) department.

It is important the media understand the biological effects from electromagnetic fields, and the long-term consequences of these exposures to children. In schools, the radiation emitted by wireless technologies is not conducive to optimal learning environments and the genetic damage from wireless radiation is irresponsible and unjustified.
More information on radiation effects on children can be found in the BRAG Antenna Ranking of Schools Report <> Instructions for schools on how to minimize microwave radiation within the school and from outside sources are provided at the back of the BRAG report, where there are also references to the science showing the known biological effects. These effects range from mild cognitive impairment, impacting memory and attention, to irreversible DNA damage and cancer. <> , a leading national and international advocacy organization focused on EMF & Health, urges Manhattan journalists to attend the program “Is Wi-Fi Safe for Kids?” <> on February 10th from 7-9 p.m. Gail McDonnell, Senior Advisor to, will be in attendance.

  1. I doubt that WI-FI (used for wireless internet connection), is dangerous.
If it was, imagine the damage it would do to laptops with WI-FI integrated (because there is no antenna…intennas are only for external WI-FI internet connection, for better reception)… So, it’s not about WI-FI internet.

If you read the link you put () you can read that it’s about cell phones and the cell phone antennas.
Also, it is knowened that cell phones, in long term is problematic (because it emits micro wave signs…exept micro-waves are made to not release the waves outside of it) and the cell phone antennas, because they redirect cell phone signals and other signals, are more dangerous (they emit stronger waves). The micro waves are the exact same as an houseold micro-wave…but they go as an radio signal(but they are not made to cook…though they can “cook”).

But from there to say that it emits radiation…I don’t see my food getting iradiated in a micro-wave.

And the “DNA damages” don’t mean they will lose skin and lose members, it’s about a higher risk to develop a cancer, a faster aging of the skin(getting ripples a bit younger than the average age)…stuff like that…

Now, is it dangerous to kids? , well if there’s a cell phone antenna near the school or building… the effects applies for every one… after a certain exposure time.
Micro wave emited from cell phone towers, cell phones,… are the cause, but not WI-FI (because WI-FI “WIreless-FIdelity” is for internet…while some researches suggest it may dangerous, they aren’t concluent).

    So, WI-FI=not dangerous.
And, cell phone antenna, cell phone (well, any thing that transmits/receves micro waves)= are dangerous, in long terms…(micro-waves aren’t include…except if the micro-wave opened while it’s heating food…)
